When I was looking through ebay to find something weird, i stumbled upon a genuine pair of "Used" Unicorn balls. These balls are a steal starting at only $0.99 . I thought this was really funny because of its originality, and because of its additional notes. Some of those notes are "Sorry, ball sack not included!" and "The description is a little off. These Unicorns are were actually a little more endowed than I originally led you to believe. These Unicorn balls are 11mm in diameter not in circumference." I thought it was hilarious that someone actually came up with something so different.

Reaction to "Once"/Video Use
I liked watching the movie "Once" in class quite a bit. The movie was really good overall, except for a couple parts where it did get a little slow. But, I did think that it was a very good representation of looking at a personal biography. I thought that Once was also a good choice in movies, because I had no idea that it was ever made, and so there was probably a pretty low chance that alot of people had already seen it.
Some things that I did like about watching the videos in class were that they all were relevant to what we were doing, and they actually gave me some ideas on what could be some possible topics. Along with that, the movies also gave me different ways to go about portraying that topic. The only thing that bugged me about watching the movies in class was that it is ungodly hot in here, and movie days were days that we ended up staying longer than ususal.

Favorite Toy
The favorite toy that I had when I was a kid were any and all Power Rangers toys. My friends and I, and just about the rest of the country were infatuated with that show. I remember getting only Power Rangers toys for about 2 Christmases, so now I'm fairly sure that I have every single toy imaginable. Until they started changing some of the shows, that was just about all I would watch because most days we would all be outside from sunup until bedtime.
I actually watched a few of the episodes a couple weeks ago, and looking back I forgot how corny the show really was, but I still love it. Power Rangers and the Ninja Turtles will never get old to me, because those are some of the greatest shows ever created, and I don't care what anyone else says about it, they were part of my childhood so they are part of me.

TV Show
Hands down, the best show ever created is "Entourage". The show is on HBO, and is about a movie star in Hollywood with his best friends from New York. One of his friends is his manager, another is his driver, and his brother is his cook. The show is hilarious, and it will seem like you have been sucked into another world. So far, there have been four seasons, and Mitch and I have seen every single episode at least 5 imes.
Marky Mark, or Mark Whalburg, is the producer and creator of the show. The show has gained tons of viewers over the last couple years, and is becoming hugely successful. There has been promised to be roughly 8 or 9 years, so there are at least 4 seasons left to begin watching and instantly fall in love with it.

Extreme emotion
Honestly, I can't remember the last time that I have been super excited or super angry/sad about anything. I guess the only thing that I can really think of is about coming here to Mankato. I was really nervous about coming here because I knew absolutely nobody before I came. I ended up getting really lucky and got a really cool roomate (Mitch), and all of his friends have been really cool to me too, so I can't complain about anything. That was my biggest concern about going to college, because I knew a ton of people in Sioux City, and coming here, I had to start completely over. I guess in a way it wasn't that bad, because I could be whoever I want to, but I didn't end up changing hardly anything.

Advertising Perspectives
When I am watching t.v. I will sometimes watch the commercials. When I stop and actually watch them, I love seeing the funny ones. And some of them I will never get tired of, even if I have seen them 1,000 times. Some of my favorites are the Budweiser commercials, because they always manage to come out with something new. They have had everything from the frogs, ferrets, Real Men of Genius, and the super powers.
Sometimes if the commercial is really good, and the product isn't too expensive, I might actually give a try. Most of the time however, I don't pay too much attention to most of the commercials just because the majority of them are way too informal or they try too hard to be funny, and those are the commercials that I will definitely change the channel on.

Obama Speech/MLK Jr Letter
Martin Luther King Jr.'s letter from inside Birmingham jail provided a great insight to what injustices non-white Americans faced on a day to day basis. The struggles that MLK Jr. describes are heart wrenching, like trying to explain to your children why all the white people are treating them so cruelly. Something that I found very intereasting was that he believed that the white churches would do the right thing and support his movement, but turned out that many of the churches were either against him outright, or even if they did agree with his views, they didn't do anything about it and just kept quiet.
Barack Obama's "More Perfect Union" speech has given me a much better idea on where he comes from and what he is all about. Obama has stated that he has relatives of many different races and colors, and says that the United States is the only place that this could have ever been possible. At the same time, he is says that Dr. King's dream is not yet completed because there is still racial discrimination in America. Another part that I found intereasting in his speech was his conclusion, where he told a story about a woman named Ashley who had a very inspiring story on why she was supporting Barack, and when she went around the room asking everyone else why they were there supporting, she got to a man who said that he was there because of Ashley. That story really proves that if you have great faith, and are willing to do something truley good to benefit someone else, people will see through to that and follow your greatness.
There are many things that MLK and Obama have in common, but one of the biggest similarities between the two is their Christian faith. That faith has done wonders for MLK, by helping him take a nonviolent approach to ending segregation. It helped him not fight back when the police would imprison him for bogus charges, and when people would criticize and even physically hurt him. That faith has also been great for Obama by helping him gain the strength to take a stand and keep him on track.
Another stance that they both shared was trying to totally equalize the black and white communities. Obviously, MLK Jr's equality was much harder to gain, because he was at the center of the civil rights movement, and at the time America was much more narrow minded than it is today. Obama stated that even though we have made great strides since MLK, we still are not done yet, being that still to this day, some formerly segregated schools that relmain predominately black/white and the black schools have been, and will continue to be infirior to the facilities in the white schools.

Spring Break
Over spring break Reese and the club baseball team went to Tampa, FL for the Spring Training Showcase. They flew into St. Petersburg on Sunday and stayed the week at their hotel until Friday. On Sunday, they all got situated in their rooms and had a team cookout. On Monday, they played two games, the first game was against Buffalo, New York. MNSU got rocked the first couple innings and fell way behind, in the 3rd inning Reese came in and threw for two innings and struck out 5 batters while only allowing one run. The second game went much better, but MNSU still lost to the 8th ranked team in the nation 6-4. The team was not too down, because this was the first time that they had been outside and were just trying to get a feel on how their team was going to be this year.
Monday night, the team partied really hard and kept partying on Tuesday on the beach in Clearwater, FL. Wednesday, they played two more games and won the first, but lost the second. That night they partied really hard and went to a world famous gentleman's club, which was a really good time. On Thursday, they won their final game which put their record to 2-3 on the year so far. The team was pretty happy on how they did, especially for this being the first time being outside all year, but still did not want to go back home to cold Minnesota. Friday night Reese got back to Mankato around 1:30 AM and slept for the next couple days because he was exhausted from his great week.

Paper
So far I have not really even started the new paper yet, because I have had a ton of work due and four tests to study for this week. I will probably actually pick out my topic for sure and start finding some research on it next Sunday when I get back from Tampa. I want to be done with the rough draft by the weekend after spring break, because then that week I should be able to have some time to work on it. But other than that, I don't really have much else.

A Modest Proposal
A Modest Proposal by Jonathan Swift was a very abstract way to solve Ireland's problem of famine, poverty, and everything else that was wrong. His proposal was to have as many children as they could, but to keep only 1/4 of the little boys for a year. The other 3/4 of the boys would be sold for cannibalism after one year of being fattened up by their parents. His proposition would end hunger because they would have all the extra meat that they would need, and would end their problem of poverty because then they could sell the kids for around 8 shillings per child.
I thought that this idea was ridiculous and I think that he was not entirely serious about carrying out his plan because at the very end of the reading he said that his wife was barren and all his kids were legitimate and couldn't be sold. I don't even think the plan would truly work because I don't honestly think that people would actually sell their children for others to eat like animals.

Monday Movie
The movie on Monday was about leaving the earth better than we found it. Woody Harrelson was going all along the west coast with some of his friends trying to get people to eat better, live better, and ultimately feel better. Some of the positives of the DVD were that it opens your eyes to things going on around you that you may not have noticed before. Also, it gives you a good idea on things you personally can do to help change the world for the better. The movie was directed more towards a younger audience with the dialogue it used and how it got some of the messages across.
Some negatives of the movie were that they all seemed to smoke a lot of weed. I also think that its not very reasonable to expect everyone in the world to stop eating the way that they do and change their whole lifestyle. But overall the video did have a good message and if a couple of the things that they are doing could be done, like the paper that doesn't need trees, the world would be a lot better off.

My Name
I honestly have no idea why my parents named me Reese, I can't remember ever asking, or even wondering about it until just now. I want to say that my dad got it from some movie he was watching one day and my mom liked it too so thats what they went with, they were thinking to either use Reese or my middle name Alan.
When I was younger, I got nicknames ALL the time, I think I've heared every possible Reese's Peanut Butter Cup reference ever made. I cared for a little bit, but then I just gave up and just let anything that started with the letter R be my nickname. I looked my name up, and every site had a different meaning, so I have no clue, although they all say its a Welsh name, some of the meanings were firey, enthusiastic, and running.

Learned During Research/ Additional Questions
I learned a ton during the research session; first, I found out that the library actually has a basement and a second floor that we can use, which you know, helps. Secondly, I learned that the library's website has a ton of database links that we can use as sources for the papers that we are writing. I thought that the lady who did the presenting had done an awesome job getting everyone situated and ready to start writing our papers.
As far as additional questions go, I don't really have any, I am pretty set on what I should be doing. I haven't had any problems this far, other than just narrowing my topic down to a more specific event. I am at a good starting point so far, and am going to go to the library sometime this week and check out some of the books that I had looked up on the website. One question I had was already answered yesterday, which was about the citations in the MLA format, but I should be good on that now.

Cold Weather
The absolute worst thing about Minnesota is the bitter cold winters, and especially here, it always seems to be ridiculously windy. I tend to not leave my room nearly as much as I would if it had been nice and warm outside. I usually gain a few pounds during a very long cold stretch, just because it is terrible to try and walk over to the gym, and then try to come back while still sweaty and turn into a popsicle. I also hate the cold, because my car will NEVER start if it is below 10 degrees, so wherever I am, I'm pretty much stuck there. Normally, the cold doesn't bother me a whole ton, but if its below 20, it just puts me in a worse mood, because then the sun is hardly ever out either, and it seems like the whole world is grey. And lastly, I've always found it ironic that whenever it seems to be insanely cold outside, all talk about global warming goes away, because I swear it keeps getting colder every single winter.

Favorite Song
This assignment is a little hard for me because I love tons of different kinds of music, and I've never really thought of any of it as describing myself. I am a huge Incubus fan, so one of my all time favorite songs has to be "Drive." The song's main verse includes the phrase "whatever tomorrow brings I'll be there, with open arms and open eyes." To me, that signifies that the songwriter will always be there for the person that they are describing, looking at things with no bias.
"Drive," I hope, would describe myself to my friends, because I try not to be too judgemental, and it would take something really extreme for me to not be there for any one of them. I also love this song because it is has pretty chill sort of vibe, but also keeps moving along with some awesome lyrics.

Favorite Place
My favorite place that I have ever visited is one of two cities, either Chicago, IL or Denver, CO. The first place that I visited was Denver about three years ago. I loved the city because it is where I was born, and I got to see where we used to live and everything. I also really liked it because I loved the whole vibe of the town, it was a place with a lot to do, and everyone there seemed really laid back and friendly.
The other one of my favorites was visiting Chicago. I absolutely loved the city and everything it had to offer. I'm pretty sure that I could live there for years and be able to find something new about it every single day. My dream is to eventually end up working in either city building bridges or buildings. I want to live in a bigger city, just because there are so many opportunities to live your dream, whatever it might be.
